European airport industry prepares to meet in Cyprus next week

20 June 2019

Brussels - More than 300 aviation executives from over 40 countries will meet in Limassol, Cyprus next week for the 29th ACI EUROPE Assembly, Congress & Exhibition hosted by Hermes Airports.

The event – which takes place from 25 to 27 June - is one of the most important on the aviation calendar. It brings together leading industry CEOs from airports and airlines for a genuinely collaborative programme with senior representatives from aircraft manufacturers, investors and tourism, as well as key institutional & political stakeholders.

This year’s conference theme is “Transform or die - Airports & the Sustainability challenge” – a reflection of the societal acceptability challenge that aviation is facing in Europe.

Olivier Jankovec, Director General, ACI EUROPE said “We are delighted to have this event in Cyprus this year, in collaboration with the excellent team at Hermes Airports. This will be the opportunity to take the pulse of our industry, reviewing trading conditions and more importantly, delivering on our promise a year ago to launch a comprehensive sustainability strategy for the airport industry.”

Eleni Kaloyirou, CEO of Hermes Airports said “The ACI EUROPE Annual Congress is a major highlight in the annual calendar of aviation professionals. It is the perfect occasion to meet colleagues from other airports, exchange thoughts and pick up new ideas. The various trend and market analyses, panels and presentations are a source of inspiration and we are looking forward to the insights & announcements that next week will bring.”
